Indice de Sequía de Palmer (PDSI) – Palmer Drought Severity Index
El Indice de Sequía de Palmer (PDI) (1965) fue desarrollado como un índice «para medir la deficiencia de humedad». Se basa en el concepto de demanda-suministro de agua, teniendo en cuenta el déficit entre la precipitación real y la precipitación necesaria para mantener las condiciones de humedad climática o normal. El procedimiento de cálculo requiere como datos de entrada,la Evapotranspiración Potencial, la precipitación mensual y el contenido de agua útil del suelo.
IMPORTANTE: Los índices de sequías y sus mapas son elaborados por el Centro de Relevamiento y Evaluación de Recursos Agrícolas y Naturales a partir de datos del Servicio Meteorológico Nacional, con herramientas desarrolladas por el Centro. Se permite su utilización en publicaciones o medios audiovisuales citando la fuente: Centro de Relevamiento y Evaluación de Recursos Agrícolas y Naturales (CREAN) – UNC – CONICET
